Whether she was aware of it at the time or not, Cindy Morgan made two great acting decisions early on to generate two diverse fan bases.
Cindy began her career with two iconic films, still being watched and talked about today.
The first being CADDYSHACK. Playing Lacey Underall, Ted Knight’s niece, she made quite an impression.
In an interview with the Palm Beach Post "Believe me, there was nothing boring about filming that movie. If the cameras had been turned around, they would have gotten a whole 'nother film."
She talked of how she and Chevy Chase did not get along. And how the producers of the film kept pressuring her to do a Playboy shoot to promote the film. She refused. The producer almost fired her.
Soon after, there was her also memorable role in TRON as Lora / Yori. Another favorite.
As she stated to Starlog about the film:
“[Writer-director] Steven Lisberger is a great guy who knew what he was doing. He was ahead of his time—way, way ahead of his time. People love TRON because it has stood the test of time. To be honest, I had to see the movie a couple times to really get it. When we made it, we were working blind! Playing CGI ball without a ball was pretty difficult. It was like being a little kid again and using your imagination.”
So, right there, she made herself a favorite of both sports fans (who worship CADDYSHACK) and computer geeks (who worship TRON).
Between the two, and after, there were roles on countless other 80’s TV series. THE LOVE BOAT, VEGA$, ChiPs, playing the sidekick on BRING ‘EM BACK ALIVE, THE FALL GUY, AMAZING STORIES, a season of FALCON CREST, and MATLOCK. There was a very memorable episode of HUNTER as well.
After a few direct to video films and more TV work, she seemed to disappear after 1994.
So, what ever happened to her?
In the early 90’s, she moved behind the camera, becoming the associate producer of several cable films, the most notable being the Nicole Eggert AMANDA AND THE ALIEN.
She also went back to the TRON universe a few years ago, become a voice for the video game TRON 2.0 (which I played and, despite being a big fan of the film and the original video game, found to be very frustrating)
She continues making personal appearances at Caddyshack events, you can find more details at her site here.
There is also word that she is preparing her biography, of how a nice Catholic girl from Chicago ended up starring in such popular films.
So, while her acting career wasn't a very long one, she is still well remembered today by her fans. CADDYSHACK will always be one of my favorites.

LOVE that comment about if the cameras had been turned around it would have been a whole different film. I can think of a bunch of situations I've seen the principle apply to! This is a great series.
I loved her in CADDYSHACK and TRON. Along with Barbara Crampton, she was one of the sexiest ladies working in films in the 1980s. I look forward to her book!
This is why I love this feature Jim. I had no idea she played in Tron. Throw some glasses and some polyester on her and she's a completely different person.
must be a nice change from dreary old manhattan
