The New York Times Magazine has a cover story today by and about former Gawker blogger Emily Gould.
It is a lengthy (almost 8,000 words) but fairly interesting story about blogging.
I read half of it and then went online to find a YouTube clip of Gould on Larry King that much of the article is about (and I agree with her, she was set up and unfairly treated).
But in looking around the blogosphere this morning, people seem to enjoy attacking her. Gawker has an active discussion going on about the piece, with all sorts of snarky comments about her. The Huffington Post is attacking her. Even the New York Times has over 1,000 comments (as I write this at 1 pm) about the story.
Wow. Such hate! I wasn't a reader of Gould's pieces, and neither were many of those commenting in the Huffington Post, but was she THAT bad? Some of the comments at Emily's own blog, Emily Magazine, are a lot more favorable.
Is it all jealousy that a blogger got the cover story of the New York Times Magazine?
