The Disney Channel didn't always have original programming. Like Nickelodeon, in the early days, they would show a lot of Canadian shows. One of the most popular was a show called DANGER BAY.
DANGER BAY starred Donnelly Rhodes as Doc Roberts, a marine biologist who lived with his kids (Christopher Crabb and Ocean Hellman) in Canada. Each week, they would have to fight off polluters or some sort of environmental threat. If they weren't doing that, they were hanging out at the aquarium.
While I won't call it a classic, it was a fun show. Sort of the wholesome family entertainment that had something for everyone.
What I remember best about it was the theme.
One of the more memorable cable TV themes.
Rhodes, who had starred on SOAP and DOUBLE TROUBLE, continues to act today (I just read that he is a regular on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA). As for his kids, Christopher seems to have retired while Ocean has done some TV work, most recently a supporting role in a Tobe Hopper directed MASTERS OF HORROR episode.

WOW! I come to your site every week to find out what DVD's are being released. I came across this. It was one of my most favorite shows when I was a kid. I've tried looking online to find it, but unfortunately, I've had no luck. Good to know someone else remembers it also!
Thanks for visiting!
I'd hope one of these days DANGER BAY would get a DVD release. Maybe in Canada (and Canadian DVDs are playable in the US). But so far, nothing yet.
I always remember the house in the TV show that sticked out at a point and was so eye struck by its location and beauty. I always wondered where that house was for it seemed to unique to my eyes for I have never seen such a thing like that in BC before. Anyone know where that house is located?
Actually, though you don't see credits for him very often, Christopher Crabb is still working - he's hosted two of the Time/Life oldies cd collections informercials in the last several years...I wish DB (And it's companion show The Edison Twins) would come out on DVD
I contacted Acorn Media, who has adventured into releasing several Canadian series of late (including another popular series Donnelly Rhodes was cast in, "Da Vinci's Inquest"). They have expressed interest that it might be something worth further exploring. This was back in April, so I hope all is going well with possibly acquiring this title.
