Critical Nepotism?

This week, on the film review show REEL TALK WITH LYONS AND BAILES, Allison Bailes was out having her baby so Jeffrey Lyons had a guest critic.

My Tivo cut off taping the beginning, because of a football game running long, but it was a younger critic, by the name of Ben Lyons. It said he was a critic for E! News.

I was only half paying attention, so I didn't even pick up on the last name. But he did a fairly good job. He was standing up a bit more to Jeffrey Lyons. And, a rarity on the show, Jeffrey wasn't talking down to him. He wasn't trying to get the last word, and saying "You are way wrong on this" (which he always says to Bailes when they disagree).

Then, a few segments later, Ben called Jeffrey dad. So, it was his son after all.

Normally, I'd be against this sort of thing. But, I have to say, Ben and Jeffrey didn't do a bad job together.

NOTE: The previous post was written before I read many of Ben Lyons' blurbing (such as calling I AM LEGEND one of the best films ever made).
